“That which you know is on your palm...”
All of life is subject to what the earth can offer the human world and is grounded in the biology of life as can be afforded by their ecology. The implication of this is that different ecologies may spell different forms of thought both on and for the humans and for the environment. Between the universal human nature and particular and peculiar expressions of these and between the human biology and the peculiar environment where they are manifested, there is the ecology that informs, affects and directs these.
Thus forms of relations lead to a number of thoughts, practices, laws and institutions, life forms, life processes, interactions, development of ecosystems; cooperation, competition, and predation within and between species—all of which shape the human world find their origin through ecology. Thus ecology needs to be interrogated more deeply and widely for forms of knowledge that can lead to knowledge(s) and practices that can advance policies in relation to them.
What does this mean for a world that is increasingly becoming more complex with every passing day? What thoughts on ecology can shape the environment of the future and the future of the environment? From a distinct African thought scheme, what are the readings of ecology and how do they align with other thought schemes? The aim of the conference is to generate more knowledge that will advance theory policies and practices on the environment through a profound engagement with ecology and its influence on the human community.
Toute la vie est soumise à ce que la terre peut offrir au monde humain et est fondée sur la biologie de la vie comme peut se le permettre leur écologie. L’implication de cela est que différentes écologies peuvent signifier différentes formes de pensée à la fois sur et pour les humains et pour l’environnement.
Ces questions sont au cœur de ce colloque qui cherche à produire des connaissances susceptibles de faire avancer les réflexions sur la culture, l’identité et l’écologie afin d'avancer les politiques et les pratiques environnementales.
